Thanks to a source close to production, SpoilerTV has been provided some details regarding the upcoming live action adaption of Winx Club. As always, information is subject to change as the show is still in development.

Full Name:
- Fate: The Winx Club Saga

The World:
- The name Alfea is retained, as is the fact that it is a boarding school.
- The name Gardenia is retained. Gardenia is located in America.
- Alfea features 2 colleges.

College for Fairies
Red Fountain College
- Red Fountain teaches Specialists
- Despite being on the same campus, they operate separately and are not to communicate.
- Regular humans cannot know anything about Alfea.
- Faragonda, Griselda and the other teachers are gone.
- The Headmistress is a new character, Ms. Dowling. It's hinted that she might be an alcoholic.
- Ms. Dowling's assistant is named Callum. She doesn't treat him well.
- Everyone has a smartphone.
- No sign of Witches or the existence of Cloud Tower.
- The Harry Potter books exist in this world and Bloom is described as a 'Rabid Fan'.

Bloom:
- Bloom is 16, American, she swears and her roommate is named Jade.
- Bloom awakens her powers after getting into a fight with her mother. She goes to sleep in a rage, then wakes up with her house on fire. Her mother receives third degree burns.
- Lies to her parents about Alfea. She tells them it's a school in Switzerland.
- Has a hard time controlling her powers, when she taps into them she loses control. At one point, she nearly kills Jade.

Jade:
- From Earth and has fairy parents.
- Her powers emerged in secondary school. After failing a math test she flooded her school.
- She's sporty and athletic.

Vanessa:
- Retains her name.
- She doesn't know anything about magic but carries scars on her body due to the fire Bloom started.
- Worries constantly about Bloom.

Sky:
- Sky is much more cocky, he's also a 2nd year.
- He meets Bloom when she accidentally walks into the Specialists Hall and he helps her.
- His roommate and best friend is Riven. They have known each other for a long time.
- Engaged to Princess Silva
- Gets a towel drop scene.
- He doesn't have a bodyguard with him.

Stella:
- Formerly dating Sky and wants him back. They aren't quiet about implying the relationship was sexual in nature.
- Her roommate is Flora.
- An incident occurred between her and another student (Ricki) which Flora found out about.
- Tries to be strong but her emotions tend to get the better of her, causing her to lash out.
- Stella also doesn't seem to think highly of herself.
- "You're better then you think you are, Stella" - Sky

Flora:
- The school gossip.
- Discovered what happened between Stella and Ricki. She spread it all over campus and made everyone turn on Stella.
- The incident goes unexplained but Stella was jealous of Ricki. Stella is described as a monster after what she did.

Riven:
- Described as fit, loves skinny jeans but looks like an absolute dick. He's a 2nd year.
- He has a thing for 1st years.
- Has an ongoing fling with a fairy named Beatrix.
- Constantly in detention, doesn't like Ms. Dowling after she took his vape.
- Describes Bloom as the 'Tight Ginge', Sky isn't amused when he hears this.

Beatrix:
- A student at Alfea.
- Believes that Alfea is hiding a dark secret, at one point she discovers a secret door in Ms. Dowling's office.
- Described by Riven as "A hot, fucked-up history nerd".

Dane:
- A tech savvy friend of Riven's. Normally made to be the lookout when Riven and Beatrix are up to no good.

Other Notes:
- No sign of Techna, Musa or Kiko.
- No sign of Brandon or Timmy.
- Beatrix seems to be based on Icy, Darcy and Stormy.
- Riven seem's to have parts of Brandon merged in.
- Jade has water based powers and seems to be based on Aisha/Layla.
- Bloom, Stella, Jade and Flora don't transform.

Netflix is Making an R-Rated Version of Winx Club

Netflix may be losing The Office and a lot of Disney-owned property soon, but that isn’t stopping the streaming service from pumping out some original content. Just in, news has it that they’re going to be rebooting Winx Club, and it’s going to be rated R.

So sounds like the live action Winx series for Netflix is gonna be VERY different from the cartoon. They are no longer fairies it seems but witches and it'a gonna be R rated and more Harry Potter than Sailor Moon.

So an adult female-led Harry Potter show...

The original Winx Club was an Italian animated series that focused on a group of girls who were fairies and attended the Alfea College of Fairies. The main character is redhead Bloom, and the series followed her and friends as they went through magic school and fought the forces of evil.

With this R-rated Harry Potter description, I’m starting to feel that this take is going to be close to Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. That series also follows a young girl who goes to a magic school, and the series is also rife with teen romance and drama.

Will the new Winx be as dark? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. With Netflix already having Sabrina, I think they would want something with a different genre when it comes to a series about girls in a magic school. Maybe it can be more comedy this time around? Until Netflix gives us some more details, I guess all we can really do is guess.

We don’t have any official release date for Winx Club yet, but if magic is your thing, you can check out The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix. There’s also the upcoming The Witcher series starring Henry Cavill which premieres sometime later this fall.

ma quindi le winx ora saranno una specie di streghe tipo sabrina e le sorelle halliwell?

Ci saranno Bloom, Flora e Stella sicure mentre non si nulla su tecna e musa, mentre Aisha sarà sostituita da Jade?

Mentre Beatrix sarà la nuova cattiva.

Niente trix, la storia sarà totalmente nuova (è un reboot) per cui l'universo del live action sarà totalmente scollegato alla serie animata...

Sicuro che ci sono Bloom, Flora e Stella.
Jade potrebbe essere una versione tutta nuova di Aisha.
Musa era prevista ma potrebbe essere che gli americani l'abbiano cassata.
Tecna nella prima serie non c'è, forse arriva nella seconda così come Aisha (ammesso che poi Aisha non sia stata rimpiazzata da Jade, cioè stesso personaggio ma solo cambio di nome, il che potrebbe pure starci).

Le riprese sono iniziate questa settimana in Irlanda.

L'attore Tom Leach ha sostenuto il provino per il ruolo di Sky.

Nuove informazioni:

* Stella ha avuto un conflitto con una persona di nome Ricky.
* Flora è una vicina di casa
* Una triste Stella andrà nella stanza di Sky di notte
* Sky aiuterà Bloom

- È stato menzionato un personaggio chiamato "Silver", forse è qualcuno dello staff di Alfea
- Stella non riesce a dormire nella stanza con Flora
- Stella va da Sky di notte, perché è l'unico che non la odia.

Fate: The Winx Saga, iniziate le riprese della serie live action del Winx Club

Sono iniziate in Irlanda le riprese di Fate: The Winx Saga, l'adattamento in live action della popolare saga animata italiana Winx Club. Creata per Netflix da Brian Young (The Vampire Diaries), con la produzione di Judy Counihan e Kris Thykier di Archery Pictures (Riviera) e Iginio Straffi, CEO del Gruppo Rainboy, la serie è composta da sei episodi e racconta le avventure di cinque improbabili amiche che frequentano Alfea, il collegio di magia di Otherworld. Le protagoniste dovranno imparare a governare i propri poteri magici mentre affrontano l’amore, le rivalità e i mostri che minacciano la loro esistenza.

Il cast include Abigail Cowen nel ruolo di Bloom (Le Terrificanti Avventure di Sabrina), Hannah van der Westhuysen di Stella (Fugitives), Precious Mustapha di Aisha (Il giovane ispettore Morse), Eliot Salt di Terra (GameFace), Elisha Applebaum di Musa (Carly & Paolo Undercover Hooligan), Sadie Soverall nel ruolo di Beatrix (Rose Plays Julie), Freddie Thorp di Riven (Safe), Danny Griffin di Sky (So Awkward), Theo Graham di Dane (Clink) e Jacob Dudman di Sam (The A List), oltre a Eve Best (Nurse Jackie - Terapia d’urto), Robert James-Collier (Downton Abbey), Josh Cowdery (Agents of SHIELD) Alexander Mcqueen (The Thick of It) e Eva Birthistle (The Last Kingdom).

"Siamo estremamente orgogliosi di portare in vita questo iconico gruppo di personaggi femminili", ha dichiarato Jennifer Breslow, Netflix Content Executive: "Ci impegniamo a creare una serie live action che rispetti la versione animata originale, ma che sappia anche conquistare nuovi fan. Brian Young ha fatto un incredibile lavoro con l’adattamento ed è riuscito a creare una serie di genere assolutamente avvincente e coinvolgente".

"So di essere uno scrittore, ma le parole non sono in grado di descrivere quanto ci emoziona sapere che Fate: The Winx Saga prenderà vita con questi incredibili attori", ha invece commentato lo showrunner Brian Young: "Non vedo l’ora che i fan delle Winx in tutto il mondo vedano cosa abbiamo in serbo per loro e che nuovi pubblici possano scoprire quello che amiamo, così tanto, di questo mondo e di questi personaggi".

Fate: The Winx Saga arriverà prossimamente su Netflix e sarà composta da sei episodi, della durata di 60 minuti ciascuno, diretti da Lisa James Larsson.
